  Quick Start Guide  
     
 

Quick Start Guide for using Proclaim

 
     
 

Proclaim is your personal multi-media communication tool. You may already be using the tool, but just in case you need some help, here's a guide containing the key steps to help get you started. Please let us know if you have any questions at all. We are very happy to be of service!

 
     
  Set Up your Webcam or Microphone  
 
Hook up your webcam or microphone. If you haven’t already done so, you will need to set up a webcam or a microphone to access Proclaim. Please follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
Log into Proclaim  

Log in. To go to Proclaim, click on the link: http://proclaim.netbriefings.com

Enter your Username and Password. For your convenience, your username and password are provided in the Proclaim log in box at the top of the page.

   
Manage your Playlist  
   

Upload your Content. This is done by clicking on the Manage Playlist button which is located on the bottom navigation in the Home, Live and Archive sections. All buttons point to the same playlist. Then click the Upload File button to upload your content. The supported file formats include PowerPoint (.ppt), Streaming Flash Video (.flv), Windows Media Video (.wmv), MPEG formats (.mp4, .m4v. .mov. .mpg), and AVI (.avi).

Sort your Playlist. After you upload your content, you will need to click on the Sort Playlist button to make sure all items are in the order you desire. To move a slide or video, simply click on it and then use the buttons on the far right to move the item forward or back.

Access your Playlist. In both the Live and Archive sections, to move through your items in the playlist, either click on the items with your mouse or use your left and right arrow keys.

   
  Live Session
   

Adobe Flash Player Settings box. When you first click into the Live section, an Adobe Flash Player Settings box will pop up requesting to access your camera and microphone. Simply click the Allow button.

Invite participants. Click on the bottom navigation Invite Email button to invite participants to your meeting. The URL is the same for all your live meetings.

Promote / Demote speakers. To promote a participant to speak to the entire meeting base, click on that participant’s name in the Attendee List and then click the Promote button. Do demote the speaker, click on the participant and then click the Demote button.

   
Archive Session  
   
Adobe Flash Player Settings box. When you first click into the Archive section, an Adobe Flash Player Settings box will pop up requesting to access your camera and microphone. Simply click the Allow button.
 

Update Greeting. Click on the Update Greetings button to personalize your message. This message will be viewable on your participant’s screen. You can choose to put in a title, your name, date, time and a message.

Upload Video Overlay Graphic. Click on the bottom navigation Options button. Then in the “Graphic for Video Overlay” section, click the browse button to search your system for your graphic file.

Keystroke Shortcuts. Proclaim was designed to promote eye contact through your webcam to your internet audience.

This is achieved through the use of special keys on your keyboard (such as using your left or right arrow) in place of having to move your attention from the camera to look for the button to click. In the Archive section, to start and stop the recording, either click the Start /Stop Recording button or use the space bar.
